Hey Backers,

What an amazing first two weeks this has been! We are excited that over 4,444 backers share the same enthusiasm for these bags as we do.

Thanks for all the questions and comments. We are doing our best to make sure you are taken care of. We have been getting a lot of the same questions via Kickstarter messages and the comment board so we wanted to include the answers to some of those here in this update. 

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions:

Q: Do the interchangeable Velcro panels work on the Travel pack?

A: The current design of the Travel Pack does not have a Velcro Panel inside. If you look at the "Backpack Vs. Travel Pack" Section, you can see that the Velcro is on the Backpack panel in the main compartment. The mesh dividing wall takes the place of the Velcro panels on the Travel Pack. So unfortunately, the Velcro panels will not work with the Travel Pack. However, it is important to note that The Travel Pack already has a shoe pocket and paper pocket (in the laptop compartment) built in, so technically the only piece that is missing from the three Velcro panels is the Tech pocket. But, The Travel Pack does have a tablet pocket, and with the 20+ other pockets throughout this bag there are plenty of places to store your tech so this should not be an issue. Because of this we do not plan on making the Velcro Panels a part of the travel pack.

Q: What size laptop can each bag hold?

A: The laptop pocket on the Backpack will fit a laptop that is at most 11.25" x 15.5". The Travel Pack will fit a laptop that is at most 10.5" x 15.5". Each laptop compartment has a depth of about 1" inch.

Q: Can I buy the compression packing cube separate after Kickstarter?

A: Yes, we will be offering all NOMATIC gear at a discount to backers post Kickstarter.

It is so rewarding to put your heart and soul into something for over a year, share it with the world, and then see the amazing response that you have given us over the past 24 hours. Funded in 15 minutes and over 2,200 backers already from 59 countries spanning every continent except Antarctica … Thanks for bringing these products to life and joining the global NOMATIC family. 

We have had a lot of questions and comments coming in and we are doing our best to keep up, thank you for your patience with us. We want to address some common questions we are seeing from backers new and old. The super early birds are all gone and we will not increase the number available. However, a spot will occasionally open up as people change their minds and want a bundle or a different bag. Based on this initial success we have increased the number of regular early birds by 250 and will continue to do so as it makes sense. Why? Based on high volumes we want to pass that savings onto our backers. 

We have had a lot of people ask about stretch goals. For those who are not familiar with Kickstarter, there are a lot of projects that offer these as ways to grow funding and improve their product. We didn’t offer any stretch goals with our NOMATIC Travel Bag campaign last year and we are not planning on offering any for this campaign either. Why? We believe in delivering the highest quality product we can from day one. There is a LOT that comes with these bags that we could have offered as stretch goals along the way i.e. The packing cube (Travel Pack), retractable key leash (both bags), sunglasses case (both bags), TSA lock (both bags), 3 Interchangeable panels (Backpack), etc… These are all included “Free” with the bags and we have done this to give you the best quality and most functional products ever from day one. For this reason, we will not be offering stretch goals. However, we are open to making small changes and adjustments where it makes sense as we want to make the best bag for everyone, or that meets the majority of people’s needs. So please feel free to share any ideas you have on how we can improve our products.
